Brian worked for five Local Planning Authorities culminating as Head of Development Control for Runnymede Borough Council. He was subsequently Planning Manager at a Commercial Property Company, Associate at a Planning Consultancy and now Managing Director of WS Planning, which was formed in 1992. He has gained over 30 years of experience in planning. Brian has acted as an expert planning witness at Public Inquiries and Local Plan Inquiries for a wide range of clients.

Spencer joined WS Planning in January 1999 after completing his four year planning degree and diploma at Oxford Brookes University. He became a Member of the RTPI in April 2001 and appointed Director at WS Planning in January 2006.
In addition to handling a wide variety of planning related projects including residential, commercial and agricultural related planning work for the Private sector, Spencer has also represented Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, Sevenoaks District Council and Waverley Borough Council at a number of Hearings and Inquiries.

Colin is member of RTPI and has 15 years of experience working in development control. He worked at Reigate and Banstead Borough Council for 7 years as a planning assistant, before moving to Sevenoaks District Council in 1997. At Sevenoaks, Colin held positions of Senior Planning Officer and Area Planning Officer, dealing with planning applications for the redevelopment of part of Sevenoaks town centre and the Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch.
Most recently Colin held the position of Service and Performance Manager at Sevenoaks, responsible for reviewing and improving the performance of the development control function.

Maggie started her planning career as a Planning Assistant at Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in 1990 where she dealt with minor planning applications and became a member of the RTPI in 1994. In 1996 Maggie joined Rushmoor Borough Council as a Principal Planning Officer where she dealt with major applications and was responsible for the Council’s Planning Enforcement Service. Maggie moved to Horsham District Council in 2000 working in Development Control, before joining Sevenoaks District Council in 2002 as the Planning Policy Team Leader where she was responsible for the project management of the Council’s Local Development Framework and represented the Council at the SE Plan Examination in Public. At Sevenoaks Maggie assisted with the preparation of the Council’s Community Strategy and was actively involved in corporate consultation projects including “Planning for Real” exercises.
During her first year with WS Planning Maggie has led on the planning policy side of the business. She has project managed the preparation of Site Appraisals and Scoping Reports to ascertain sustainability of sites to promote for inclusion in Local Development Frameworks. She has also prepared written representations for clients in response to LDF Issues and Options papers, Preferred Options papers and Submission Documents. She has also represented clients at LDF Examinations in Public. Recently she has been invited to become a member of the Panel which will oversee Reigate and Banstead Strategic Housing Land Availability Study.

Kate is a Chartered Town Planner with 12 years experience Private Practice. She began her career with WS Planning in 1995 and re-joined in December 2007 after working as a Senior Planner in the Environmental Management Team at Mott MacDonald Ltd and also working as a sole practitioner.
Kate's work has been varied and includes residential, commercial, waste and major infrastructure projects. She has a wide range of project management experience with regard to Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment.

| Jackie Ruaux MA MRTPI |

Jackie has worked in local government for over 28 years as well as in the private sector - her previous position being that of Director of Planning at Oakdene Homes PLC. She has worked as a Senior Planner for Sevenoaks District Council and prior to this held positions as a Planner at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Medway Council: after working for some years in planning administration at Gillingham Borough Council and Housing at Maidstone Borough Council and The Greater London Council.
She has a wide and diverse experience in planning including dealing with large residential development schemes, wind turbines, LPG compounds and many rural issues such as the erection of polytunnels, high-spec agricultural buildings and barn conversions. She has also held the position of Programme Officer at a major Public Inquiry involving a Minerals and Waste proposal.
Jackie was one of the first in the UK to complete the Manchester College of Arts and Technology Planning Foundation Course (distance learning) and obtained a Masters degree in Town Planning at the University of Westminster. Jackie joined WS Planning in June 2008.

Richard joined WS Planning from Spelthorne Borough Council in April 2004. Since joining WS Planning Richard has worked for a wide variety of clients including a current dual role as a Development Control planning officer for Epsom & Ewell Borough Council handling Householder applications.
He completed a Masters degree in Town Planning in March 2007 and is currently working towards membership of the RTPI.

Julian completed a BSc in Urban Planning Design and Management at UCL in 2003. He has recently completed a Diploma in Town and Country Planning at UCL specialising in Urban Design. Julian joined WS Planning in 2005 on a part time basis and has now become a full member of the team as of May 2007.

Alex has recently completed his BA in Town Planning at University of Westminster. He is currently undertaking a Masters in Town Planning at University of Westminster. Alex has followed in his fathers footsteps in becoming a Town Planner and joined our team in August 2005. He is now looking to complete his qualifications and become a full member of the Royal Town Planning institute.
