WS Planning is an expanding, well respected Town Planning Consultancy established in April 1992 by Brian Woods. Brian has over 30 years of experience in Planning. He has worked for various local authorities in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire culminating as the Head of Development Control at Runnymede Borough Council after which he became the planning manager at Commercial property developers Crest Nicholson Properties.

Brian now heads a team of highly qualified planners offering comprehensive, practical and honest advice to private and public bodies as well as third parties. Based in Reigate, Surrey, the practice is ideally located being in close proximity to London and the remainder of the South East. However we also handle projects throughout England. Our portfolio of clients covers a vast array of planning related work including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and local government related consultancy.

Our work on behalf of the private sector involves the provision of comprehensive planning appraisals and the submission of planning applications with detailed design and planning statements. The need to appeal planning decisions has risen substantially over the last 10 years and our practice handles a wide variety of appeals on behalf of our clients including Written Representations appeals, Hearings and Inquiries. The latter two forms of appeal require expert witness and advocacy skills all of which are handled in house by our expert team or by instructing specialist Counsel.

WS Planning also specialises in local government consultancy covering a wide variety of roles. We currently have one householder planning application contract with Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, following previous contracts with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. In addition, we also undertake appeal cases on behalf of Waverley Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council. We have also recently undertaken two major projects on behalf of Surrey County Council and latterly Crawley Borough Council analysing Traveller Communities in Surrey and Traveller Sites respectively.
